We were lucky to escape some of the awful weather that has blighted us this summer when we held our Carnival in July. The committee would like to thank all those who helped in anyway and special thanks to all, who took part in the carnival. The village was host to many famous names including: Jamie Oliver, Bruce Forsythe and his Strictly Come Dancing Team, Fireman Sam, Scooby Doo, Snow White, Sitting Bull and Cruella Deville amongst others. The turn out was slightly smaller than in recent years but the quality of the entries was as high as ever. Many had put a lot of effort into their floats and costumes, which was much admired and appreciated by the spectators; comedy came in the form of the entries from St Mabyn Young Farmers and St Tudy AFC and glamour from the Ladies returning home from Ascot.

The carnival was led by Anne Masters on her horse Hector followed by St Breward Band and our Fairy Queen and Attendants who did us proud. Many thanks to the girls: Katie Morrish, Rosa Berman and Clover & Daisy Newton and their parents for the effort they put into the trailer and costumes. The girls looked delightful and we hope they enjoyed the evening.
