Spring Show 2005

 

Our Spring Show was held on Saturday 2nd April and, as usual, despite predictions that there would be nothing available, the hall looked so pretty with all the daffodils and camellias on display.  There was a good number of entries in the cookery classes and flower arrangements but we could do with more handicrafters! 
The judges were Mr Burnard Hawken (Flowers), Mrs M Eustice (Floral art), Mrs P Bellringer (Cookery) and Mrs Fran Hayes (Handicrafts).

Trophy Winners were: 

 

Mrs Ivy Bastard – The Anne Luck Memorial Cup for Best Daffodil/Narcissi Exhibit and The Cup for Most Points in Flower Classes

 

Mrs Judith Jasper  - The Weekes Rose Bowl for Most Points in Floral Art

Mrs Trish Griffin’s entry won the Cup for Best Exhibit in Floral Art and Cup for Best Exhibit in Show

Mrs Jane Miller – The Wildey Cup for Most Points in Home Produce

Mrs Catherine Hudson – Runner-up Cup in Home Produce

Miss Nora Sheer – Cup for Most Points in Handicrafts and Mrs Dee Eastlake – Cup for Best Exhibit in Handicrafts (a beautiful pendant necklace).

Throughout the afternoon Val Smith was in the tea bar, and Ken Metcalfe was doorkeeper and raffle salesman.  Peggy Metters and Jane King had plants for sale in aid of the Children’s Hospice SW and Cornwall Air Ambulance and raised £62 which was split between the two charities.
