Summer Show 2005

 

 

The Annual Open Summer Show was held on Saturday 13th August and, even though the Village Hall is in the throes of being extended and admission was via the stage door, a good number of folk arrived throughout the afternoon.  Sadly this time there were no junior entries, but the judges were complimentary about the standard of exhibits and the hall looked very colourful.  Mrs Hilary Cragg judged the floral art, Mr John Harris the fruit and veg and Mr Jim Godden the flowers. 

 

The Results . . .

 

Cup for most points in Vegetable Section – Mr and Mrs Edward Collins, Runner up cup Mrs Peggy Metters.

 

The John Stone Cup for most points in Pot Plant Section gained by a St Tudy GPA member – Mrs Ivy Bastard, who also won the Dray Memorial Cup for most points in Vegetable and Flower Sections and the Cup for most points in the Cut flower Section. 

 

 

Mr John Lacey won the Runner up Cup in Cut flowers and the Lamerton Memorial Cup for Best Exhibit in Show for three wonderful huge cactus dahlias.

In Floral Art the Cups for most points and best exhibit - Mrs Jane King

 

 

Also the winners in the Hanging Baskets were announced

 

1st Mrs Sue Dibble, 2nd Mrs Bernice Hancock, 3rd Mr Doug Degnin

 

and in the Planted Troughs Competition

 

1st Mr Doug Degnin, 2nd Mrs Dee Eastlake and 3rd Mrs Jenny Keat.
