Hello everyone,
The council have made contact with us and have said they are going to organise a
meeting in both villages at the end of November / beginning December with
different groups of the community following our suggestion. This is to include
governors, teachers, parents and villagers in separate sessions. It is expected
that some cabinet members will be in attendance alongside the diocese. The
council are also going to meet with our Action Group on a separate date. They
acknowledge our group has evidence supporting our goal of keeping two village
schools and it is this we wish to put to them.
We have made it clear that these public meetings should NOT be a chance for the
council and the diocese to sell the idea of a new school to us but should be the
opportunity for the council and diocese to listen to everyone.
We are also attending further council meetings in Truro to gather information
from the various committees involved with this process.
We have had precious little correspondence from any party in this and therefore
the campaign is now stepping up a gear.
The referendum will be arriving shortly and press coverage is being arranged -
if you would like to be involved please let me know via email. We need as many
people as possible to post their ballots on our press day when possible TV and
paper teams will be in our villages (further details to come).
All the best,
Matthew
