The Thursday Afternoon Club

After a break for a few months, the club re-formed in 2003 under the chairmanship of Ron Heath.  Meetings take place at the Village Hall on the third Thursday of each month (except August) starting at 2.30pm.

Interesting and informative speakers have provided entertainment and/or slide shows on a variety of subjects ranging from “Old Wadebridge” by Clayton Irons, “How to apply for Pension Credit”, “The Coastguard Service”, “South West Water”, “The History of Leica Cameras” by Albert Ridgeley and “What it was like being an RAF wife” – to name but a few!

Half way through the afternoon is a break for tea and biscuits and a small raffle.  There is a small subscription fee – well worth the money – and the club is open to all, age not a problem!

On Thursday 6th July 2004 there was an outing to Yelverton Paperweight Centre (which had been started in St Tudy) and then on to Badgers Holt for tea.   Everyone enjoyed themselves!
