Sunday 12th January 2004 –  at last the repairs to the forge are started

The crane arrives and puts the granite lintel in place

 Chains are then put onto the huge wooden beam

The beam is raised

and carefully put into position
 

We wait in anticipation, looking forward to the day when the forge is rebuilt and is once again the pride of the village centre.
