SILK PAINTING DAY IN THE VILLAGE HALL MARCH 19th 2005
On Saturday 19th March 2005 seventeen ‘students’ (16 women and 1 man) met to take part in a master class on Silk Painting with the celebrated artist Jenni Milne. Coffee and biscuits were served while everyone got to know one another and sorted out their equipment etc. Jenni provided all the paints and silks and the students then chose which design they wanted to try. Most had never done this type of artwork before, but the results were magnificent. Lunch was provided at 12.30 and then it was back to work on a different design. All managed to produce two lovely pictures. The atmosphere was very relaxed and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day. Five of those present were not from the village, and they all agreed that St Tudy is very fortunate in having such a well appointed Hall. This event was arranged to raise funds for the St Tudy Church Roof Appeal and after expenses a profit of £195.50 was made.
