ST  TUDY

VILLAGERS HOME

Hi my name is Anne Masters

I farm with my husband Fernley one mile from the picturesque village of St. Tudy.

My hobbies include wine making, and photography but my main passion is horses.  I have ridden for a number of years, but when the children grew up, and left home, I decided that life began at forty so I joined a riding club.  I have competed, for the last few years, Showing, Show Jumping, and Cross Country.

I have three horses Sunshine who is now 25 and in semi retirement.  I bred him myself he has a great sense of humour and loves to see if he can buck you off, or he will come to a jump and say ‘Ladies First’, the times I have been one side of the jump and him the other is countless.  He also had a reputation in the riding club to being the most mischievous horse.
Hector is 19 years old and I have owned him since he was 5.  He is a little horse who likes to get the job done.  He has won lots of Showing prizes for the Ridden Cob and Family Pony, as anyone from 9 to 90 can safely ride him.  Then I have the ‘baby’ he is purebred Welsh his registered name is ‘Penllwynuchel Boheddwr’ but to his friends he is known as Dandy.

He is quite highly strung but has had several wins in the Showing classes, he can also Show Jump and Cross Country. Sunshine’s colour is what is known as dun, Hector’s and Dandy's is bay.  They have three completely different personalities.  Sunshine does not like the rain and runs for cover at the first drop, he also feels the heat.  Dandy because he came from the Welsh hills takes ho notice of the weather.
Hector when I fist got him he could not jump he used to be a driving pony and has pulled Father Christmas around Tintagel, so I feel very proud of our achievements together.  I have had a lot of pleasure over the years from my horses and if I win I think it’s a bonus, if I don’t win, I don’t mind, as long as I have enjoyed the riding.  When the pleasure has gone out of the riding, that’s the time to give up, I hope to have a lot of years yet.
